Each year, Newcomers works with local charities or organizations in need. We may make a monetary donation or our members may volunteer their time at one of these organizations.
This organization is focused on the rapid re-housing, rehabilitation and development of former prisoners, homeless men, addicts and anyone starting over. Exodus Place creates a sense of community, restores dignity and helps to remove the obstacles that prevent men from contributing to society. They provide housing, medical care, meals, education and faith services. For more information, visit their website at
AYA Youth Collective is an organization that creates communities through a sense of belonging, to youth experiencing instability to their own futures. Their vision is a society where all youth have support, stable housing and belonging. They provide housing, instruction in life skills, a pathway to education and employment and much more to at-risk youth. Their Drop-In Center is a resource for youth 14-24 experiencing a housing crisis, homelessness or who just need basic resources and a place to be loved and accepted as they are. For more information, visit their website at www.ayayouth.org.
The banner that hangs in the lobby of Exodus Place represents much of the philosophy of the work that they do. They feel that one of the keys to success is building relationships.
One of the members models a coat from the Clothing Room - a room of new or gently used donated clothing and accessories that the members can select.
A couple of our members went to Exodus Place for a presentation and lunch hosted by the President and Community Outreach Coordinator. We also were given a tour of the facility. They do amazing work!
